The old Witcher sought adventure.

He saw life without temptation.
Но, повстречав красотку, растаял
But, having met a beauty, he melted.
Бросил друзей, покинул стаю
He abandoned his friends and the pack.


Бродил по Свету, убивал чудовищ
He wandered the world, slaying monsters.
Получал за это немало сокровищ
He received many treasures for it.
Кикиморы, волки, злыдни, красотки
Kikimoras, wolves, evil spirits, beauties.
Ведьмак видел много, хоть и был он кротким
The Witcher had seen much, though he was meek.


Но вот однажды, сидя в трактире
But then one day, sitting in an inn.
Он думал о том, как одинок в мире
He thought about how alone he was in the world.
Вдруг видит: сидит кареглазая Дельфа
Suddenly he saw brown-eyed Delfa sitting there.
Была она дочерью короля эльфов
She was the daughter of the Elven King.


Сердце заныло, душа заскрипела
His heart ached, his soul creaked.
И тут ведьмак понял, в чём же здесь дело
And then the Witcher realized what was going on.
Чары любовные разум сковали
A love spell had paralyzed his mind.
А это похлеще жутчайших тварей
And this was worse than the most terrifying creatures.


Но было уже поздно, она поманила
But it was too late; she beckoned him.
Его в дикий лес, где встретит он гибель
Into the wild forest, where he would meet his doom.
Герой наш отважный, он был не из робких
Our hero was brave, he was not one to be timid.
Он встал и пошёл в свой путь между топей
He stood up and set out on his journey between The old Witcher sought adventure. He saw a life without temptation. But, having met a beauty, he melted. He abandoned his friends, abandoned his pack.


Старый Ведьмак искал приключений
And so he walks, and everywhere there are only shadows.
Он видел жизнь без обольщений
And those were the shadows of all his doubts. Creatures crawled from dark dungeons.
Но, повстречав красотку, растаял
He struck them with the sword of his generations.
Бросил друзей, покинул стаю


The beautiful elf moved further and further away.
И вот он идёт, а повсюду лишь тени
And there was not a drop of falsehood in her.
И то были тени всех его сомнений
But still, she was the end for him.
Твари ползли из мрачных подземелий
Will cover his head with a coffin crown.
Он бил их мечом своих поколений


And now the end is near, they are already in the thicket.
Красотка-эльфийка уходила всё дальше
Father Old Oak sheltered them with a cloak.
И не было в ней ни капли фальши
From his leaves, shedding tears like a stream.
Но всё равно была она для него концом
From golden acorns, our friend is doomed.
Покроет его голову гробовым венцом


But light shone through the veil of fear.
И вот конец близок, они уже в чаще
And suddenly the hosts of ghouls scattered.
Отец Старый Дуб приютил их плащом
The Sun Angel deprived the two of fear.
Из своих листьев, лья слёзы ручьём
And what happened next is shrouded only in Darkness.
Из желудей златых, наш друг обречён


The old Witcher sought adventures
Но свет воссиял сквозь пелену страха
He saw life without temptations
И вдруг разбежались сонмы вурдалаков
But, having met a beauty, he melted
Солнечный Ангел лишил двоих страха
He abandoned his friends, left the pack
А что было дальше - покрыто лишь Мраком
