After the riot was over, Paul called the disciples and gave them instructions and took leave of them, and departed and went to Macedonia.

And having passed through those parts and given the believers abundant instructions, he came to Greece.

There he stayed three months. But when, on account of the insurrection made against him by the Jews, he wanted to go to Syria, it occurred to him to return through Macedonia.

He was accompanied to Asia by Sosipater Pyrrhus, a Berean, and from the Thessalonians Aristarchus and Secundus, and Gaius of Derbe and Timothy, and from Asia Tychicus and Trophimus.

They went on ahead and waited for us at Troas.

But we, after the days of Unleavened Bread, sailed from Philippi and in about five days arrived at Troas to them, where we stayed seven days.

Now on the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul, intending to depart the next day, conversed with them and continued his discourse until midnight.

In the upper room where we were assembled, there were many lamps.

While Paul was speaking long, a certain youth named Eutychus, who was sitting in the window, fell into a deep sleep, and staggering, fell sleepily down from the third porch, and was taken up dead.

Paul came down and fell upon him, and embracing him, said, Do not be troubled, for his life is in him.

Then he went up, and broke the bread, and ate, and conversed long until daybreak, and then went out.

In the meantime, they brought the youth alive, and were not a little comforted.

We went ahead to the ship and sailed to Assos, to fetch Paul from there; for he had so commanded us, intending to go on foot himself.

And when he met us at Assos, we took him and came to Mytilene.

And sailing from there, the next day we anchored opposite Chios, and the next day we touched at Samos, and having been at Trogilla, the next day we arrived at Miletus,

for it seemed good to Paul to pass by Ephesus, lest he should tarry in Asia; for he was hastening, if possible, to be at Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost.

And he sent from Miletus to Ephesus, and called for the elders of the church,

and when they came to him, he said to them, “You know how, from the first day that I came into Asia, I have been with you all the time,

serving the Lord with all humility and many tears, in the temptations which befell me by the plotting of the Jews;

how I shrank back nothing that was profitable, that I did not declare to you, and teach you publicly and from house to house,

testifying both to the Jews and to the Greeks repentance toward God, and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.” And now, behold, I go bound by the Spirit to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there;

only the Holy Spirit testifies in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions await me.

But I regard none of these things as precious to myself, so that I may finish my course with joy and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to preach the gospel of the grace of God.

And now, behold, I know that all of you, among whom I went about preaching the kingdom of God, will see my face no more.

Therefore I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all men,

for I have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God.

Take heed therefore to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he purchased with his own blood.

For I know that after my departure grievous wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock;

and from among yourselves men will arise speaking perverse things to draw away the disciples after them.

Watch therefore, and remember that for three years I continually taught each of you night and day with tears.

And now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up and to give you an inheritance among all who are sanctified.

I have coveted no one's silver, or gold, or apparel.

You yourselves know that these hands have ministered to my necessities and to the necessities of them that were with me.

In everything I have shown you that by laboring in this way you must help the weak, and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that he himself said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

And when he had said this, he knelt down and prayed with them all.

Then there was no small weeping among all, and falling on Paul's neck, they kissed him, grieving especially over the word he had spoken, that they would no longer see his face. And they accompanied him to the ship.
