All the congregation of the children of Israel assembled themselves at Shiloh, and pitched the tent of meeting there, for the land was subdued under them.

Now there remained of the children of Israel seven tribes which had not yet received their inheritance.

And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, How long will ye neglect to go up and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers hath given you?

Give three men of each tribe, and I will send them, and they shall rise up, and go through the land, and describe it, how it shall be divided among them, and they shall come unto me.

Let them divide it into seven inheritances: Judah shall remain in his border on the south, and the house of Joseph shall remain in his border on the north.

But ye shall describe the land into seven inheritances, and bring them here unto me: and I will cast lots for you here before the LORD our God:

But the Levites shall have no part among you: for the priesthood of the LORD is their inheritance: Now Gad, Reuben, and the half tribe of Manasseh received their inheritance beyond Jordan eastward, which Moses the servant of the LORD had given them.

These men arose and departed. And Joshua gave these charges to those who went to describe the land, saying, "Go through the land and describe it, and return to me; and I will cast lots for you here before the LORD at Shiloh."

So they went and passed through the land and described it in a book, according to its cities, into seven inheritances, and came to Joshua at the camp at Shiloh.

And Joshua cast lots for them at Shiloh before the LORD, and there Joshua divided the land to the children of Israel according to their divisions.

The first lot came out for the tribe of the children of Benjamin according to their families. And their border by lot was between the children of Judah and the children of Joseph.

their border on the north side begins at the Jordan, and the border passes by Jericho on the north, and goes up to the mountain westward, and ends in the wilderness of Bethaven.

from there the border goes to Luz, to the south side of Luz, that is Bethel, and the border goes down to Ataroth-adar, to the mountain that is on the south side of nether Beth-horon;

then the border turns and bends toward the sea side south of the mountain that is south of Beth-horon, and ends at Kiriath-baal, that is Kiriath-jearim, a city of the children of Judah. ​​This is the west side.

And on the south side from Kiriath-jearim the border goes toward the sea, and comes to the fountain of the waters of Nephtoah;

Then the border goes down to the end of the mountain that is before the valley of the son of Hinnom, in the valley of Rephaim, northward, and goes down by the valley of Hinnom to the south side of Jebus, and goes to En-rogel.

Then it turns from the north and goes to En-shemesh, and goes to Geliloth, which is opposite the ascent of Adummim, and goes down to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben.

Then it passes along the plain northward and goes down to the plain.

Then the border goes along by Beth-hoglah northward, and the end of the border is at the north bay of the Salt Sea, at the south end of the Jordan. This is the south border. And on the east side the Jordan is the border.

This is the inheritance of the children of Benjamin, with its border on every side, according to their families.

Now the cities of the tribe of the children of Benjamin according to their families were these: Jericho, Beth-hoglah, and Emek-ketzitz,

Beth-arabah, Zemaraim, and Bethel,

Avim, Farah, and Ophrah,

Kephar-ammonai, Afni, and Geba: twelve cities with their villages.
