Like flutes, the stars began to sound
Радостно приветствуя Мессию
Joyfully welcoming the Messiah


И на стройность чудных звуков этих
And to the harmony of these wondrous sounds
Озарив притихшие селенья
Illuminating the hushed villages
Хор небесных жителей ответил
A choir of heavenly inhabitants responded
Гимном ликованья и хваленья
With a hymn of jubilation and praise


А земля молчала равнодушно
And the earth remained silent, indifferent
Не заметив появленье Бога
Not noticing the appearance of God
Лишь пастух простое пенье слушал
Only the shepherd listened to the simple song
Онемев от счастья и восторга
Mute with happiness and delight


Да следили за звездою яркой
And the wise men followed the bright star
Мудрецы с волненьем и надеждой
With excitement and hope
И несли Царю царей подарки
And brought gifts to the King of Kings
Запылив дорожные одежды
Covered with dust Traveling garments


Вспоминая ночь святую эту
Remembering this holy night
Я хочу опять увидеть ясно
I want to see clearly again
Воинство, сияющее светом
The army, shining with light
И солому Вифлиемских яслей
And the straw of the Bethlehem manger


И, расставив памятные вехи
And, having set up memorable milestones
Прослежу душой, представив точно

Трудный путь от Бога к человеку
The difficult path from God to man
Начатый Мессией этой ночью
