For nine days the guide

Cast out the net,
Девять дней поводырь
All the time he was looking for the kobzar,
Закидывал сеть,
But all nine days in vain.
Все искал кобзаря,

Да все девять дней зря.
Emelyan drooped,

And did not see the light.
Емельян поник,
And Yaik said:
Да не взвидел свет.
